William McLaurin McKethan's Wedding
Invitation List includes a long list of his friends
and relatives, mostly living in the Fayetteville, NC area
in 1905.
Read about McKethans and the 51st North Carolina, CSA in the Confederate Report from Battery Wagner, July 18, 1863. This battle is the one in the climax of the movie Glory.
Here is an interesting article from the Fayetteville Observer-Times on Cool Spring Place, one of the McKethan homes, and the oldest house in Fayetteville, NC. Or read a little about the house on Carolyn's Genealogy Page.
Another old home in Fayetteville was the A. A. McKethan House, located at 245 Person St. It is no longer standing, but you can see a picture and read a little about it and the McKethan Carriage Factory here.
Read about Old Bluff Presbyterian Church in Wade, NC, and its first minister, Rev. James Campbell (my 5th-great-grandfather).
Read about the Yulee Sugar Mill near Homosassa, Florida, or take a look at a picture of its ruins. My great-great-grandfather, Joseph Hale, was a millwright from Vermont, and was in charge of the construction of this mill for David Yulee (Levy).

Most of my information is taken from family records such as Bibles, old letters, etc. However, two published sources provided extensive information on the McKethan and McAllister lines. They are:
