!He was a farmer throughout his life, and was considered very good at that, particularly during the depression years. According to my father, he was also a very good baseball player. He was a friend of "Preacher" Roe, who was from Fannin County, and was a major pitcher for St. Louis at the time "Dizzy" Dean was their outstanding pitcher. (Entered 6/90).
