!NOTES: Carrollton Democrat, Carrollton, MO, Tuesday June 17, 1997, "Accident claims the lives of three Carroll County residents. Shortly before midnight Saturday, June 14, a two vehicle accident on US 24 highway claimed the lives of three Carroll County residents. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop A, the accident occurred at approximately 11:48 PM two miles east of the Route B intersection on US 24 highway. Patrick R. Pyle, 29, of Hale was traveling eastbound in his 1990 Buick when the vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway. As Pyle tried to steer back onto the roadway, he over-corrected and jumped back toward the center of the highway. The driver of the second vehicle, Albert "Cully" Goodin, 51, of Carrollton, was heading westbound in his 1986 Chevy when the accident occurred. Goodwin's wife, Rebecca, 53, was also in the vehicle. The Goodin's vehicle hit the passenger side of Pyle's vehicle as it crossed the center line. All three individuals were taken to the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton. Cully Goodin, a broker and insurance agent in Carrollton since 1980, and Rebecca were returning home from a performacne at the Lyceum Theater in Arrow Rock, Missouri. In 1983, Goodin, along with Mary Ann Buzard, of Carrollton, purchased what is now Insurance Protection Agency in Carrollton. The agency was originally owned by Clayton Bridges, Rebecca's father. Goodin also owned Goodin Oil Company for approximately 8 years, which operated the former Amoco Standard Service Station. The gas station in Carrollton was closed in July 1994 following the flood of 1993. Rebecca was a homemaker. The couple has two surving adult children, WIlliam Goodin of San Diego, California and Catherine Miller of Carrolton. Pyle was an auto body technician at Wards Body SHop in Carrollton.
