Source: Tombstone of her son Henry King in the King family cemetery, Cumberland Co. NC. Her surname was given as McDuffie in e-mail correspondence from Jennifer Bell to Frances Cullom Harper. Jennifer quotes a book on the King family (Our King Family, by Oscar Benjamin King): "Nathan King's wife, Flora (McDuffie) King died before 1825 as indicated in a Mississippi lawsuit...The lawsuit came up in Hinds County, Mississippi about 1829 between the heirs of Flora King and others over the estate of her bachelor brother, George McDuffie, who died without any heirs of his own. Flora had three brothers, William, George and Archibald."
