Source: Sampson County Heritage. John McNair was appointed on April 28, 1775 guardian of Daniel, Duncan, Douglas, John, and Margaret McFarland, children of John McFarland, deceased.

On Jan. 11, 1773 in Newbern, he filed that he had entered 50 acres in Dupli County on the east side of Black River in the fork of the Beaverdam Branch. The grant or patent by Bovernor Josiah Martin was dated July 24, 1774. The 50 acres were sold Beb. 19, 1802 to John Donald Jr.

Notes

List of children came from two different sources: Rebecca Matilda "Tee" White Robertson (dau. of Mary Sophia Moore and Wiley Mays White) in a letter to Mamie White Mason, and the Moore family Bible, via John Warren White. There is probably some overlap here.

All information concerning descendants, except those of Mary Sophia Moore came from John Warren White or Janet Corbett Strickland.
