AUTHORS: Tannenbaum and Arnold

COURSE OBJECTIVE: Use arithmetic, algebra and geometry to study some interesting and useful applications of mathematics

MAJOR TEACHING METHODS: Students are expected to read assignments and try homework problems BEFORE class. I will answer questions, work examples, and lead class discussion. Use of the Internet and the WWW will be an important part of the learning experience in this course.

ATTENDANCE POLICY: Students are expected to attend each class and to arrive on time.

GRADING:
    Three tests and a final exam, each worth 100 points
    Occasional quizzes (some announced, some not), homework and computer projects, including constructing a web page, worth 100 points

NO MAKE-UPS! Final exam score will replace lowest test score (if it is better). Lowest quiz score will be dropped.

GRADING SCALE:
    A  90 - 100%
    B  80 - 89%
    C  70 - 79%
    D  60 - 69%
    F  < 60%

Note: The Final Exam will be given 3:30 - 5:30 on Wednesday, May 9.
