!NOTES: Presley found in 1850 Census Madison Co, MO. Was William Smith's neighbor in 1860 Census in Freestone Co, Texas. Death certificate has P. E. Smith as his father, but has Mary Townsend as his mother. Mary Townsend married William H. Smith and not P. E. Smith per the Logan County marriage records. Also Freestone Co, Texas deed book R page 371, 372, 378 and others Presley received most of the land that William Smith owned at his death in Freestone County. Also Mary Smith, William's wife, was living with Presley in the 1880 census in Texas.

!DEATH: Per Texas Death Certificate #13925, Tombstone Port Arthur Texas in Greenwood Cemetery.

!MILITARY: Private in Company D, 10th Texas Infantry in the Civil War. Taken prisoner of war at the Arkansas Pass battle and sent to prison at Camp Douglas in Chicago. Prisoners were transported by train to Camp Douglas. Civil Civil War and Texas pension records are available. Was a teamster in the war.
