The bond is: "Know all men by these presents that we Ambrose Ford and Daniel Nolley are held and firmaly bound unto the Commwealth of Kentucky for the sum of (pound sign) 50 the payment of which will and truly to be made to said Commonwealth will bind ourselves and heirs to jointly and suverally firmly by these presents sealed and dated this 14 day of May 1827. The condition of the above allegation is such that whereas a license is about to insure for a marriage made between Ambrose Ford and Lucy Bailey now if there be no legal objection to the said marriage, then this ??? is to be valid else to remain in full force."
