!BIRTH: Family group chart from Fay Duckworth, Waco, Texas.

!DEATH: He was cremated and buried in the sea.

!NOTES: He was married five times and had three children by his second wife, three children by his fourth wife, and seven children by his fifth wife. These are documented in the family group charts of Mrs. Fay Duckworth. Some of these charts reached me (Clark Johnson) via Mr. Woodrwow Duckworth of Lubbock. Apparently he was never officially divorced from his fourth wife before marrying his fifth wife, and she was never able to collect any of his social security benefits.

!NOTES: Fannin County Records: "Know all men by these presents: That whereas, J. A. Duckworth of Fannin County, Texas, is about to adopt as his legal heirs in accordance with Article 1 of the Revised Statutes of Texas, my children, to-wit: Joseph Woodrow Jones, a boy aged 5 years; Joyce Evelyn Jones, a girl aged 3 years, and Agnew Overton Jones, a boy aged 1 year, the mother of said children being dead, and I being their only surviving parent, and said J. A. Duckworth being their grandfather. Therefore, in consideration of such adoption, and consideration it for the best interest of said children, I, J. N. Jones, Jr., have transfered and relinquished, and do hereby transfer and relinquish until said J. A. Duckworth of Fannin County, Texas, all my parental authority and custody over each and all of the above named children. Witness my hand, this 9th day of July, A. D. 1923." (Signed J. N. Jones Jr.)
