!BIRTH: From Mrs. Lillie Duckworth Click, Burleson, Texas and 1900 Census of Mason county, TX

!DEATH: Information from Lillie Duckworth Click.

!NOTES: Obit from paper in Eden, Texas, date unknown: "Funeral for Mrs. G. E. Duckworth January 1. After an inllness of three months and ten days, God called to rest our loved one, Mrs. G. E. Duckworth about 5 o'clock on the first morning of the new year. She had been in ill health for several years, but had led an active and cheerful life that no one was able to realize her condition. In spite of the long suffering, she retained to the last a hope for recovery. SHe was born in Fannin County, Texas, November 27, 1870, and was the oldest of a family of five daughters. Her life was saddened at an early age by the death of her parents, leaving her to rear the sisters. She was married to George E. Duckworth in 1889 (note, paper is wrong, it was July 21, 1891) at Bonham, Texas. To this union were born nine children, five boys and four girls, one son, Carl, preceeding here in death. The other children who, with her companions, survive her are Elbert, Mrs. T. E. Baygent, Slive, Joe and Thelma all of Eden, Mrs. Alex Largent, of Cisco, and Mrs. Gus DuBose, of Houston, all of whom were present. She also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Duckworth of Benham, Mrs. John Barrett of Pontotoc, and Mrs. Zoe Perry of Hagerman, New Mexico. Mr. and Mrs Duckworth came to Eden in 1909 from Pontotoc and engaged in the farming business. For the last several years they made their residence in town. Services were held Saturday afternoon at the Church of Christ, of which she was a member, Homer a. Gay officiating. A special song, "Where We'll Never Grow Old," was sung as a request of hers if she happened not to recover. The remains were quietly laid to rest in the Eden Cemetery, with the local undertaker, Charles E. Latham in charge.
