!NOTE: Father listed with marriage in Pottawatomie Co, Oklahoma.

!NOTES: the D. W. Spencers and Dawsons moved from Georgia to St. Jo, TX in 1879. The D. W. Spencers moved from St. Jo, Texas to Dardanelle, Arkansas in the early winter of 1883 and were there for about 10 months. They all became ill with chills and fever and returned to St. Jo, Texas. The moved to Marietta Indian Territory in 1886. And then moved to the Davis Indian Territory. At one time the Spencers farmed the land which is now the city of Ardmore, OK. Then they moved to the Davis Indian Territory. In 1892, the moved to Tecumseh Indian Territory and homesteaded 160 acres 1 mile north and 1 mile west of the Tecumseh townsite. The Land Grant Record was signed by President Theodore Roosevelt. THis records is now (in 1978), at the Pattawatomie County Historical Society Building across from the Tecumseh Mission Cemetery. This building was the early day "Friends Mission Church" (Quakers)
