!BIRTH: 1900 Census of Logan County, Kentucky and tombstone in Greenwood Cemetery in Logan County, KY.

!DEATH: Tombstone in Greenwood Cemetery in Logan County, KY.

!NOTES: Had 10 children and 9 were living in 1900 per the 1900 Census.

!NOTES: Obit Adairville Enterprise, September 27, 1917: "Mrs. Rebecca Houston Hite, Widow of the late John Q. Hite departed this life on August 28, 1917, in her eighty third year of age. Rebecca Houston, the maiden name of the subject of this sketch, was born in Pennsylvania, of an honorable and highly esteemed family, but was reared mostly in Indiana. She came to Logan county, Kentucky in the capacity of a governess in 1857, and during the same year was married to John Q. Hite, a highly respected farmer living near Adairville, Kentucky. To this marriage was born a very large family of children, all of whom proved a credit to their family and rearing. Mrs. Hite was reared in the bosom of the Presbyterian church till her marriage to a Methodist husband. Some years previous to her death she had a fall sustaining a serious injury to her hip from which she never entirely recovered, her weight and the decrepitude of age interfering to prevent recovery. From this injury she became a great sufferer, and death finally came as a great deliverer. Her husband preceded her to the spirit land by about fourteen years, after which she lived only for her children. All survive her, viz: William, Philip, Debe, Joe, Houston, Mrs. Laura Paisley, Mrs. Bettie Gooch, and Mrs. Geo. Flowers. On the day following her death, her funeral was preached by her pastor, Brother Stodghill, at the home of her youngest daughter, Mrs. George Flowers, with whom she had made her home every since her injury, and her body was conveyed to the Adairville cemetery and laid to rest beside her beloved husband."
