Left wife, Kathleen and daughter and was not heard from for quite a long period of time. Would write to his mother from time to time when in trouble or in need of help. It is thought that he may have been married several times while in California. In later years, he and wife, Therisa, moved back to the Milam ranch west of Uvalde. He appeared to be very happy and content there - and died there. His wife went back to CA shortly after his death and filed for Social Security Death Benefits there. The SS records show Joshua Tree, CA as residence at time of death. He is buried in the Milam Plot in Uvalde Cemetery.
