Jasper Co. Marriages, 1808-1820 shows Solomon Chapman & Betsy Milam, married by J. P. This family is listed in the 1830 Harris County, Georgia census on page 178. Brother, Lewis and family are on page 176. Sister, Nancy and husband J. Cliatt are on page 185. At least, we know that all three of these children of Benjamin, Sr. moved from Jasper county to Harris before 1830 and her father's will suggests that she, and Nancy, and their families were living on property owned by their father, Benjamin, Sr. I have not located them in the 1850 census records. However there is a Elizabeth Milam in the 1860 Federal Census in Columbus, Georgia - age 61, born GA.; Mary Hudson, 26 (maybe a widowed daughter): Ephriam Hudson, 4, (Her son?) and Elizabeth Chapman, 22. There is no way to prove that this is Elizabeth (Milam) Chapman, however we know that she had daughters and that her brother, Lewis lived in Columbus. Because her younger brother, Lewis was born in South Caroline, I assume she was also born there - however her parents family moved to Georgia when she was quite young.
