!NOTES: Autauga County, AL, Book D-Z Deeds and Mortgages page 610: "Know all men by these presents that I Anthony Smith of the county and state aforsaid for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which I have to bear to my son William P. Smith of the same country and state to secure to the said William P. Smith and his heirs the enjoyment of the property herein described and also for diverse other causes and considerations, that the said Anthony Smith ... for the further consideration of the sum of five dollars to me in hand paid by Perry Krikland before the onsealing and delivery of the presents ... the following Negro slaves, Philip a boy about sixteen years old, Judy about twenty seven years old and her two children, Elich a boy about nine years old, Burton a boy about six month old, the children of the woman Judy and Lucky, a girl about thirteen years old, Bitsy, a girl about five years old. To have and to hold the said Negro slaves with their future increase to him the said Perry Kirkland in trust ?? for the said William P. Smith to enjoy the same during his natural life and at his death, the said properity to go to his heirs and become their property and right in fee simple..." July 15, 1843
