She was 86. Funeral will be a 10 a.m. tomorrow at Greenwood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park. Mrs. Gardenhire was born in Texas and was a longtime Fort Worth resident. She worked for Striplings handbag department for 40 years. Survivors: Brother, A. B. Gardenhire of Fort Worth."

!NOTES: Obit in Lubbock Avalance Journal, December 30, 1965: "Post (Special) - George D. Duckworth, 80, retired rancher of the Justiceburg are east of here, died about 9 p.m. Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sid Cross, in Post. He had been in failing health for some time and seriously ill for about a week. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church here with the Rev. H. M. Biggers, Lubbock officiating. Assisting will be the Rev. R. B Helster, pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy in Post. Burial, under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home of Post, will be in Terrace Cemetery here. Born in Hill County, Duckworth moved to Scurry County at the age of 2 with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Ira Duckworth. He came to what is now Garza County in 1898 (nine years before the county was organized) and began ranching in the Justiceburg area. He retained his ranch holdings there at the time of death. A member of the Post Masonic Lodge, he received a 50-year membership pin this year. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Surviving are his wife, Elvy of Post; two daughters, Mrs. Cross and Mrs. Dude McLaurin, Portales; two brothers, Walter and Ira Lee Duckworth, both of Post, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild."
