!NOTES: Sue was not adopted but lived with the Smith family. Her father was a doctor in Cross Plains, TN and her mother may have been a Scoggin. The children were "farmed" out and the Smiths took Sue into their home. She married Robert L. Staggers who traveled for a tabacco company. The Smith's left their home and farm to Sue Ethel and she took care of Charles Smith who had Downs Syndrome all his life. She was buried on the Ervin P. Smith lot in Greenwood Cemetery. Information from Mrs. Ras Jones of Bowling Green, KY who was a personal friend of Sue and Bob.

!NOTES: Obit in the Carrollton Democrat, Carrollton, MO, June 17, 1997: "Becky Goodin, age 53, of Carrollton, Missouri, died June 14, 1997, with her husband, near Carrollton. She was born June 11, 1944 in Carrollton to Leslie Combs (Hudson) and Frank Clayton Bridges. She attended William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri, for two years and graduated from Murry State University in Kentucky. She taught second grade at Fox Elementary in the St. Louis area for two years. On June 10, 1969, she was married to Cully Goodin, in Carrollton. For the next several years they made their home in several places around the world where he was stationed with the United States Army. Becky was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who lived for her family. She moved to read, knit, sew, cook, and bake bread. Her favorite pastime was "playing" with her computer, where she spent many years researching and creating genealogy files of her families. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Carrollton. Survivors include a son, William Goodin, and his wife Kara, San Diego; a daughter Catherine Miller, and her husband Jarrod; her mother of Carrollton; a sister Leslie Clayton Bridges Kohler, and her husband Gary, Glendale Arizona; and a grandson, Sawyer Cole Miller, Carrollton. She was preceded in death by her father in 1987. Joint funeral servies will be 1:30 PM, Tuesday, June 19, 1997, a Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, conducted by Reverend Joe Barone. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society, the Genealogy Department of the Carrollton Library, or the American Diabetes Association in memory of Becky Goodin."
