Benjamin served in the Revolutionary was as a private along with William Milam, an ensign, in the militia from Bedford Co. VA. They were ordered into the Carolins'a in 1781 and were at the Battle Of Guilford Court House, NC where they were subsequently taken as prisioners. Benjamin died as a prisioner. He wrote his will on Oct 13, 1780 before he went off to service. His will was probated 22 Oct 1781 in Bedford Co., VA and an inventory and appraisment of his estate was filed on Dec 23, 1782.
His wife, Elizabeth, married a second time to James Wiliamson and had 8 or 10 children from this second marriage.
