Mr. Albright states that Geo. W. & family & negroes left Nashville, TN in winter of 1959 on boat, debarking at Jefferson, Tx in about 3 weeks. Newton, his brother met the boat with 2 wagons and after camping all nigh left next day for Lamar County where they established home and stayed until after Civil War, then to what was later Delta Co. The two brothers places were about 8 miles S. E. of Paris, Texas, in Lamar Co.
He was a Justice of the Peace in Marshall Co. TN and preformed marriages there. The last one that I found recorded was 2 Feb 1858
