!NOTES: For several years during her high school and after, she lived with her sister, Laura Belle, in Sherman. Worked as a secretary until her marriage, then worked with her husband in a news/magazine business in Denison, Texas. She is the source for a considerable amount of the information in this genealogy. She has maintained more contact with other's in the family than any of the other family members. She was very caring for her sister, Laura Belle during her terminal illness with breast carcinoma. This may have been because she appreciated being able to live with Laura while she completed school, and until Lillie married. However, she is also simply a very caring person. She is an aunt who is not much older than I, and was much like an older sister to me.

!MARRIAGES: As above. Also from the written account of her life by his second wife, Mary Elizabeth (Jolley). In the copy of her life which I received from Robert Johnson, he has the additional information that "Eb's" first wife, Monty (or Montie) was half Cherokee Indian who abandoned her husband and at least two of the three children. Mary E. (Jolley) Johnson's life story states that "Eb" later ran off with one of his girl cousins (name not given), and had a child by her before Mary divorced him. Marriage date and other marriages from Mrs. Gibson. Date of divorce given as 3 Mar 1882, Fannin County.
