!NOTES: Obit in Rockwall texas Success paper dated December 8, 1961, page 1: "Frank Clark Laid to Rest Dec. 5, 1961. Frank Clark passed away Monday morning, December 4 at the Rockwall Medical Hospital where he had been a patient for the past several months. Funeral services for Rockwall's beloved citizen were held at the First Methodist Church, Tuesday, December 5 at 2 p.m. with Rev. John Rice, pastor and Rev. M. L. Jones, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Born March 23, 1882 in Rockwall, he was the late son of Frank and Harriett Boydstun Clark. he was married to Miss Margaret Austin in 1909. They were the parents of one son, Francis Clark, who resides in Houston. Mrs. Clark preceded her husband in death in 1953. Mr. Clark had lived a colorful life in the community, being active in the affairs of church and civic endeavors. He had been postmaster of Rockwall since 1935 before retiring on April 1, 1952 after serving in this capacity for seventeen years. During these years spend as postmaster he was an officer in the Texas branch of the National League of District Postmasters, a delegate on many occasions to District Postmasters meetings and National Association of Postmasters. In these circles of post offices organizations he was recognized as a leader. He was succeded by Raymond Hargrove as postmaster after his retirement. A Rockwall druggest for twelve years, Mr. Clark was a past president of the Rockwall Rotary Club and actve in its program and others in his community until illness incapacitated him. He was recognized as a Red Cross leader in Rockwall County for a number of years, in addition to work in the United Fund as a director and charter member of it's board. His love for youth was manifest in his work and effort expended in the Boy Scout movement of this area. He was a scout leader in Rockwall as well as a member of the Circle 10 Council. He was awarded the Silver Beaver Award, the highest honor in scouting in February, 1957. In addition to community and civic life, in his younger years Mr. Clark was a renown athlete. His love of sports presented him with a record which he held for a number of years at the University of Texas as a high-jumper in the 100 yard dash. (Yes paper had "...high-jumper in the 100 yard dash.") He was an avid baseball enthusiast as well. His survivors include his son Francis Clark of Houston; a sister, Mrs. H. D. Haskins of Houston, three grandson, and three great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Pall bearers were Albert Nelson, Kenneth Smith, Henry Zollner, W. H. Andres, Raymond Cameron, and Jack Pullen. Martin Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements with interment in Rockwall Cemetery"

!NOTES: Death certificate: Lived at 912 North Goliad in Rockwall, Texas. He died of "Massive gastro insestinal hemorrage ... Gastric ucler or maligancy."

!NOTES: Birth Certificate: Father was Francis Clark, Sr. His father was Francis Clark, Sr. and was 51 years in age when Francis Clark Jr. was born. Francis Sr. was born in St. Francois County, Missouri and was a "Ginner and Gotton Gins and Oil Mill" Mother was Harriet Marinda Ann Boydstun. She was in Rockwall whne Francis Jr. was born as was 40 years old. She was born in Know County, Illinois. She had 6 children and 6 were living at the time."

!NOTES: Birth certificate for Francis Clark Jr. born November 3 1910 indicates that his father Francis Clark Sr was age 28 at the time and he was a Druggist. His mother was Marguerite Austin and she was age 19 at the time. Dr. J. L. Austin delivered the baby.

No paper is indicated: "Ector, Texas, Leo Meade (Newspaper has Meade), 25, who was crushed to death in a rock pit at Slaton Saturday, was buried Monday in Oak Hill cemetery near Whitewright. Born in Ravenna in 1911, the young man lived for a time at Denison then in the Fairview community north of Ector. Funeral services were conducted by the Enterprise Church of Christ by J. R. Waldrum of Whitewright. Pallbearers were Gordon Nix, Cecil Taylor of Denison, Paul Wright of Sherman, J. Duckworth of Ector, Claud Duckworth of Ector, and R. P. Booer of Ely. Mr. Meade was a member of the Church of Christ. In 1931, he was married to Miss Jessie Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Brown of the Enterprise community. He is survivied by his widow and a five-months-old child, Barbara Joy."
