!NOTES: Obit in Adairville Enterprise, March 12, 1925: "Daniel B. Mason, aged 64 years, 2 months and 4 days, died last Friday night at 11:30 o'clock of dropsy, at their apartments in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Heathman on North Main Strees, where he and his wife had resided for the past few months since he closed out the mercantile establishment of Mason and Moody, at Dot. He had been in poor health for a number of years, but it was only recently that his condition took a decided change for the worst and alarming to the family and relatives. Funeral services were held at the residence Satruday afternnon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Harry L. Green of the Baptist church, assisted by Rev. Elmer Ashby, of the Methodist church, and followed by internment in the Adairville cemetery. Mr. Mason was born at the old homestead at Dot, and was the son of K. C. Mason and Jane Stovall Mason, pioneers in that community. For many years he was engaged in the mercantile business at Dot under the firms of Moody and Mason, later moving to Adairville where he resided about 20 years. About 9 years ago he returned to Dot and again engaged in the mercantile business with his sister, under the firm name of Mason and Moody. Thirty-five years ago he was maried to Miss Sweetie McIntosh, who survives him. he was not a member of any church, but professed faith in Christ. Besides his widow he is survived by one brother, Jack Mason of Dot, and two sisters, Mrs. F. M Moody of St. Louis, MO, and Mrs. M. Rogers of Dot."
