!John is computed to be the most likely father of Thomas from research done by several persons. See "Genealogy of the Townshend-Townsend Family" by Riely Leon Townsend, Oklahome City, OK. In May, 1995, information received from Alice Mason of Cookeville, TN, has brought many correstions to the information in the Twoensend line. She has used many sources including the prime source herein cited many times. I have taken her info as the most accurate and made changes accordingly.

Refer to Vol. 4, #5 - There are no records of Turner Milam. However in the 1850 census of Tipton Co., TN his son, age 7 is living in the home of Jacob Lynn, age 70 and his wife, Sarah, age 65 (probably grandparents)

In 1860 the young Turner Milam is living in the home of this Turner"s brother, Benjamin F. Milam in Lawrence Co. AL.

It is presumed that this Turner Milam and his wife died before 1850 in either Alabama or Tennessee.
