!NOTES: Obit in Mangum Oklahoma Newspaper: "W. C. Gardenhire Funeral Service to be Tuesday. Funeral services for William Charlie Gardenhire, 79, will be held Tuesday at 2 P.M. in the Memorial Chapel of Johnson Mortuary. Charles Floyd, Church of Christ Minister, will officiate, assisted with sign language by Rev. Charles Richardson, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Mr. Gardenhire died Sunday in Propps Nursing Home after an extended illness. He was born October 17, 1886 in Seymore, Texas and moved to Mangum in early childhood to live with his uncle, the late Jim H. Bex. He attended school for the deaf at Sulphur. In 1919 he married Ina Pearl Palmer in Oklahoma City and they moved to Akron, Ohio where he was an employee of the Goodyear Tire Company for 20 years. Returning to Mangum, he was employed by the compress for several years and later was a mail carrier on the Vinson Star Route from which he retired tne years ago. A son, Charles Jr. preceeded him in death in 1937. Survivors are his wife of the home, five cousins, Johnie Bex, Mangum; Forest Bex, Altus; Bill and Elton Bex, Anters; and Mrs. Dee Dowdy, Tulsa." Buried in Riverside Cemetery in Mangum, Greer County, Oklahoma.

!NOTES: From Eris McCluer: "There is a story about James Arthur McCluer, Jr. He was born on a boat coming to this country or was just a baby when he reached this rountry. Anyway, he was just a baby when he came to America and both of his parents died. He and his other two or three brothers were put in Foster Homes. He eventually ended up in Texas and was buried in Cundiff, Texas. He was born on September 26, 1836 and died on January 27, 1893. He was married on March 2, 1867"
