!NOTES: Obit in Adairville Enterprise, May 14, 1914: "Mr. Lucelius Paisley, one of the pioneer and best known citizens of this section, succumbed to infirmities and passed away at the old Paisley homestead, one half mile west of Adairville, at two o'clock Monday afternoon. Many years ago, while on a tour through the Eastern part of the state he suffered a partial stroke of paralysis and from this he never entirely recovered. His health began to deterate rapidly about five months ago , since which time he has been confined to his home, and his family and friends had given up hope for some time before the end came. The funeral services were conducted at the grave at three o'clock Tuesday afternoon by Rev. W. H. Archey, of the Methodist church, followed by interment in the Adairvelle cemetery. He was in his sixty ninth year and is survived by one brother, Mr. R. A. Paisley, with whom he made his home. Mr. Paisley was a naive of this county, and practically all of his active and useful life was spent in this section. He was one of a family of three children, two boys and one girl, of Mr. and Mrs J. B. Paisley, deceased, and was of the fourth generation of Paisleys born and reared in the homestead. Mrs. Wooten of Pairs, Texas, a sister, preceeded him to the grave by several years. Mr. Paisley was a man of strong convictions, well posted, and in this capacity was eminently fitted to help founld the rude elements of pioneer society into form and considtency, and was always active in promoting and organizing any movement looking to the betterment of the conditions of th masses of the people. By many he was thought to be eccentric, but to those who knew him best, he was the soul of honor, with a heart of gold, and his friends and friendships were sacred to hime. Peace to his ashes."
