!NOTES: Soldier's Application for Pension # 40644 has the information that John Padian Price was in Company "C" of McGinnis Regiment of Texas and served under Gen McCullough. He was in the Cavalry. D. G. Hart stated that he also served with John from 1864 to 1865 in Company "C" under Captain John Ratten and Colonel McGinnis. He was with this company when it was disbanded at Bonham, TX at the end of the war. Widows Pension Application # 50339 (both are the State of Texas Pension Applications) states that his full name was: John Padian Price. States marriage date of 25 February, 1886 in Fannin county.

!NOTES: From the Bonham Paper of Oct 29, 1931: "John Paden Price is Buried at Fairview Cemetery on Friday - John Paden Price who died at Spies Switch - Oct 29, 1931 - demise was made in the "Bonham Favorite" Friday. He was a native of Fannin County. He was born in Fannin County on December 12, 1846, and spent his entire life in the county with the exception of the time he spent in the Confederate Army, in which he enlisted in 1862 at the age of 16 and in which he served for the rest of the days of that war, 3 years, surrendering with his comrades in April, 1965. Those of that great army are fast crossing the Great Divide. In all that number there is hardly a corpal's guard here to represent that body of men composing that army. Many of the greatest men that have ever assembled on the earth. Mr. Price was twice married. His first wife to whom he was wed in February 27, 1870 was Nancy Stubbs. Two sons, Horace and Charles, were born to them. The first is now dead, the later is living in Washington State. Mrs. Price died in 1881. His second wife Miranda Ellen Hundly to whom he was married in 1886 survives. To them was born two boys James (Jim) Evan and John Douglas, a daughter, Nora who is now Mrs Harry Boult all of Revena and a brother Thomas Jackson of Lingleville. Those attending the funeral included: Rev C. M. Hundly and family - Ryan, OK (Family of wife Miranda Hunley), G. C. Hundley and family - Wichita Falls, TX, Mrs. Nancy West - Wellington, TX, Mrs. A.P. Staniford - Whilewright, Mrs. C. L. Nelson - Bonham, TX, and Mrs. W. H. Porter - Savoy, TX. Mr. Price has been a member of the Christian Church for more than 60 years. Rev Thomas Reece of Bonham preached the funeral."

!NOTES: Obit: Sherman Democrat, March 8, 1978, Page 27:" J. T. Duckworth -- Services for Jackson T. Duckworth, 88, retired Denison grocer who died Tuesday at a hospital here, will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday at Bratcher Funeral Chapel, conducted by Everett Hodges, Church of Christ minister. Burial will be at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. Born in Fannin County, Mr. Duckworth was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Duckworth and married Beulah Stratton, August 9, 1916 in Graham. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ. Surving sons, George D. and Roy Edward Duckworth, both of Denison, Kenneth J. and Robert A. Duckworth both of Fort Worth, and James B. Duckworth of Dallas; daughter, Mrs. Hazel Bowen of Denison; brother, Irving Duckworth of Los Angeles, California; sisters, Miss Nina Duckworth and Mrs. Gladys Hathcock, both of Wichita Falls; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family will be at the funeral home from 6:30 to 7:30 PM Wednesday and at other time at 720 W. Grandy and 422 W. Day."

George T. finished High School in Uvalde. He and Nellie were married in Uvalde and she had the following children from her marriage to Mr. Joy: William Ira Joy, born 18 Mar 1919; Kathleen (Sue) Joy, born 23 May 1920; and Richard Beal (Jack) Joy, born 28 Aug 1921. George and Nellie lived in Uvalde until 1941 and he worked for American Express Company and did carpentry and other work. In 1941 he went into civil service work in San Antonio and subsequently spent 6 years in Mew Mexico. He must have been in the U. S. Air Force in Mew Mexico because after that he spent 16 years at Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, Texas. He retired in 1964 after having spent 22 years in the Air Force. In May of 1967 they moved to Ingran, Kerr County, Texas. Nellie was in poor health, suffering from cancer and she died in Ingram in October of that year. They were members of The Church of Christ. Both of them ar buried in Hunt Cemetery, near Kunt in Kerr County, Texas.
